On May 27, Tyre Stewardship Australia (TSA) welcomes Get A Grip Tyres as a new contributor and participant in Australia’s Tyre Product Stewardship Scheme, aiming for more sustainable outcomes for its mining, construction, and transport customers.

Get A Grip Tyres, an Australian-owned company operating for over 20 years in Western Australia, offers extensive tire services including wholesaling, fleet management, logistics, maintenance, and manufacturing. Starting May 2024, the company will contribute to the Scheme by paying a voluntary levy on every brand they import and sell, funding TSA’s efforts to address the nation’s waste tire problem by investing in tire-derived products and market development.

As an accredited participant, Get A Grip will assure customers of responsible tire management, using only accredited collectors and recyclers for end-of-life tires. TSA CEO Lina Goodman expressed delight in welcoming Get A Grip, highlighting the company’s strong track record and commitment to environmental and social responsibility.

Get A Grip’s supply chain, including a partnership with Gallawinya, spans from Fremantle Ports to the Pilbara, the highest consumer of mining, construction, and transport tires in Australia. This partnership will further integrate the circular tire economy into regional, rural, and remote WA communities, creating local jobs and business opportunities.

Get A Grip Director Pete Holywell sees the Scheme as a gateway to fully enter the circular tire economy and take responsibility for their imported brands. The company aims to enhance environmental and social impacts, collaborating with partners and customers to find Australian-made solutions for the waste tire problem.
