Zeppelin Systems has expanded its partner network for sustainable solutions in the tire industry by adding ORLEN OIL to the Zeppelin Sustainable Tire Alliance. The Friedrichshafen-based plant engineering company said ORLEN OIL will contribute expertise in lubricant technologies and rubber process oils. The addition is intended to strengthen the alliance’s capabilities across the tire recycling value chain.

Today, advances in devulcanization technology are beginning to change that equation. New processes designed to selectively break sulfur cross-links while preserving the underlying polymer structure are creating opportunities to recover rubber in a form that can potentially be reused in more demanding applications.

The facility is also expected to generate approximately 21,000 tonnes annually of tire-derived oil through the company's pyrolysis process.

The AZuR network, which focuses on promoting sustainable management of end-of-life tires and circular economy solutions, said the partnership will support the development of digital technologies for recycling and industrial process optimization.
