The REMADE Institute®, a division of the Sustainable Manufacturing Innovation Alliance Corp., today issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to solicit both technology development projects and technology demonstration projects that will increase the reuse, remanufacturing/retreading, or recycling of end-of-life tires (ELT) generated in New York State.

The Latin American Rubber Technology Society (SLTC) has announced the 4th Latin American Tire Recycling Conference, to be held from November 12–14, 2025, at the Ágora Bogotá Convention Center. The event will bring together professionals, companies, and institutions involved in tire recycling, the circular economy, and sustainable technologies.

AZuR shares key updates in its August–September 2025 report. AZuR is the European network for a sustainable tire circular economy. Founded in 2020, the alliance unites more than 90 partners from industry, trade, and academia across all segments of the tire value chain. The second AZuR Retreading Summit took place on September 16–17, 2025, at the KRONE Trailer Forum in Werlte. Leader Rubber Company, part of the Marangoni Group, has officially resumed full production at its Johannesburg facility after a fire at the end of 2024 caused severe damage to its mixing department. Despite the incident, the company maintained operations throughout the rebuilding process, thanks to swift response from its team and support from partners and customers.

Vaculug has submitted a proposal to the UK Cabinet Office consultation Public Procurement: Growing British Industry, Jobs, and Skills, calling for retreaded tyres to be mandated in public sector fleets. The company argues that such a policy would cut costs, create jobs, and support national sustainability objectives.

AZuR’s (Allianz Zukunft Reifen) new partner, the Gesellschaft im Ostalbkreis für Abfallbewirtschaftung mbH (GOA), a municipal waste management company in Germany, has been relying on retreaded tires for many years. Today, around 120 of its vehicles run entirely on retreaded tires — a strong example of how circular economy principles can be effectively integrated into everyday municipal operations.

The Allianz Zukunft Reifen (AZuR) will enter its next phase in 2026, aiming to expand collaboration across the tire recycling value chain and further advance the tire circular economy in Germany and Europe. Since its creation, the initiative has promoted sustainable solutions including repair, retreading, regrooving, and both mechanical and chemical recycling of end-of-life tires.
