Residents of Žabalj in Serbia have protested against the planned opening of a waste tire processing facility, citing concerns over possible impacts on water sources, agricultural land and the nearby Jegrička Bara area. The protest, held under the slogan “We don’t give Žabalj, we don’t give Jegrička,” followed public concern about a proposed tire recycling plant with a reported capacity of up to 72 tonnes per day. The facility is planned for an industrial zone but, according to residents, would be located about 800 meters from the first houses. Citizens are calling for the project either to be relocated or suspended, arguing that they have not received sufficient answers about the environmental impact of the proposed tire processing operation.

Eco Infinic has reached key construction milestones in the expansion of its tire recycling facility in Sriracha, Chonburi. The project, supported by a THB 1.375 billion Board of Investment (BOI) approval, remains on track as civil works progress toward commissioning in 2027. Once completed, the expansion will double the company's processing capacity, with the integrated operation expected to process up to 20 million end-of-life tires (ELTs) per year and produce 60,000 MT of recovered carbon black (rCB), 70,000 MT of tire pyrolysis oil (TPO), and 36,000 MT of recycled steel annually

The new company, Lohum Talbros CarbonTech Pvt. Ltd., will focus on recovered carbon black, also known as rCB, and devulcanized rubber. These materials are linked to the recycling of end-of-life tires and industrial rubber waste, supporting the reuse of rubber-derived resources in new products and reducing dependence on virgin raw materials.

The Tyre & Rubber Recyclers Association of India (TRRAI) has announced RE-GO – TRRAI’s 3rd Annual Conclave 2026, a two-day tire recycling industry event scheduled for September 10–11, 2026, at Novotel Goa Dona Sylvia in South Goa. Organized under the theme “Recycling On-the-Go in Goa,” the conclave is expected to bring together 250–300 delegates from across India’s tire recycling value chain, including tire recyclers, end-of-life tire processors, tire pyrolysis companies, machinery manufacturers, automation providers, consultants, investors, policymakers, environmental specialists and regulatory authorities. TRRAI said the event is designed as a major platform for discussion on Extended Producer Responsibility, regulatory alignment, sustainable growth, technology development, recycled material markets and circular economy opportunities in India’s expanding tire recycling sector.

According to the ministry, more than 60% of waste tires generated in South Korea are currently recycled into thermal products such as solid recovered fuel. Only a small share is converted into recovered carbon black for use in new tire production. The government said the new R&D program is intended to support a shift toward higher-value recycling by producing recycled raw materials that can be used in manufacturing rather than mainly in energy-related applications.

England’s new „Tyre Pyrolysis Oil Resource Framework“ establishes a defined pathway for determining when TPO produced from waste tires may cease to be classified as waste. Although formally applicable only in England, the framework has significant implications for overseas TPO producers, traders and English importers. Imported TPO will not automatically be recognized as a product merely because it has obtained end-of-waste or equivalent status in the country of dispatch. Instead, the English importer must demonstrate compliance with the framework’s requirements, including eligibility of tire-derived feedstocks, representative pre-dispatch testing, conformity with minimum and refinery-specific specifications, certainty of refinery use, and delivery to an appropriately permitted facility. The framework therefore shifts market access towards transparent, contractually defined and evidence-based supply chains. While it may strengthen confidence in TPO as a refinery feedstock, it also increases the compliance, documentation, and due diligence burden for both exporters and importers.

The presentation will also consider technical barriers to wider adoption, the potential value of distillation and further refining, and the production scale at which TPO upgrading may become commercially viable. Emerging pricing approaches and the potential development of premium TPO markets in Asia-Pacific and Europe will also be discussed. Recovered Carbon Black Asia 2026 will feature representatives from the recovered carbon black, tire manufacturing, carbon black, pyrolysis, refining, and recycling industries. The event will open with a joint session alongside Sustainability in Tires 2026, while registered participants will have access to both conference programs and a shared networking area throughout the two-day event.

Earnings per share before dilution were SEK -0.02, unchanged from the corresponding period last year. Cash flow after investments for the quarter was MSEK -21.6, compared with MSEK -49.6 in the second quarter of 2025.
