Recovered Carbon Black – an event organized by a global leader in rubber, plastics and polymer testing and market reports Smithers Rapra – has been designed as a forum for experts and innovators, who research, develop and commercialize recovered carbon black (rCB). Yogesh Gaikwad, a technical consultant for carbon black, recently joined the team of Weibold. Yogesh has 13+ years of experience in chemicals and material science. Throughout his career, he has been analyzing petroleum products and participating in leading R&D projects in the carbon black industry. A graduate of an MSc program in Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Mumbai, Yogesh worked with carbon black production technologies and feedstock, focused at final product applications. Working as a lab analyst, quality assurance officer, research associate, laboratory manager, technical and product development manager, he supported Gharda Chemicals, Geo Chemical Laboratories Pvt., Birla Carbon, Phillips Carbon Black and BKT Carbon.

Tire pyrolysis company Pyrolyx A.G. has delisted from the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) as well as the Dusseldorf and Frankfurt stock markets following a prolonged closure of its processing plants in the U.S. and Germany. In a trading update, Pyrolyx said it had delisted from ASX following "failure to pay its annual listing fees by the due date." In addition, the company said it had notified German markets on Aug. 21 about delisting and said it expected the delisting to be effective by the end of that month.

The tire waste management scheme, RepakELT launched in Ireland two years ago demonstrated effectiveness as the country managed to recycle 97 percent of scrap tires during the first year of the project, the Irish Minister for Communications, Climate Action and the Environment, Richard Bruton T.D. said in a recent report. The official emphasized that the scheme is being further worked on as it received 15 recommendations for improvement; stakeholders are expected to consider them. Burton also stressed that it was important to make tire manufacturers take responsibility for the environmental impact of tires.

On March 14 2023, Reoil Sp. z o.o. – a company recycling end-of-life tires using continuous pyrolysis process, announced it had signed an LOI with Japan’s Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd – a global tire manufacturer headquartered in Japan – for the commercialization of recovered carbon black (rCB). Through this agreement, the two companies will jointly develop products allowing Reoil’s recovered carbon black to partially replace virgin carbon blacks that produced from fossil fuels. About Reoil Reoil was one of the world’s pioneers in developing a successful continuous pyrolysis technology, which it implemented in its first end-of-life tire recycling plant in Bukowno (Małopolskie, Poland) yet in 2015.
