On March 28, Pyrum Innovations AG (Pyrum) published its trading update for Q4 2023 and preliminary figures for the full year 2023. According to the company's press release, sales increased by 17% year-on-year to EUR 1,147 thousand (2022: EUR 982 thousand). Pyrum Innovations AG (Pyrum) has published its 2021 annual financial statements and, for the first time, consolidated financial statements for 2021. In the past financial year 2021, the Group achieved a total output of EUR 3.7 million, an increase of 106% compared to the previous year (2020: EUR 1.8 million). In the reporting period, the total output mainly consists of own work capitalised in the amount of EUR 2.8 million and sales, which increased to EUR 0.9 million.

The European Rubber Journal (ERJ) reports that tire recycling is gaining a "remarkable traction" in the EU. Max Craipeau, the leader of the BIR says that tires and rubber have quickly developed into "one of the most dynamic divisions of the recycling business." According to Max Craipeau, who is also a head of Greencore Resources Ltd. in Hong Kong, the demand for recycled rubber is expected to grow five times in Europe over the next 25 years. Tires and rubber, often considered to be the "poor relation" of recycling, have suddenly emerged as "one of the most dynamic parts of the recycling industry," Craipeau stated at a meeting of the Bureau of International Recycling's (BIR) tires & rubber committee on May 31.

Pyrum Innovations AG (Pyrum), a pioneering company that recycles used tires sustainably with its globally patented unique pyrolysis technology, recently published its annual and consolidated financial statements for the 2022 financial year. According to Pyrum’s press release, the group achieved total output of EUR 19.1 million. This represents a significant increase compared to the same period in the previous year (2021: EUR 3.7 million). The main reason for this was the sharp increase in own work capitalized in the amount of EUR 17.8 million (2021: EUR 2.8 million) as part of the expansion of the main plant in Dilligen/Saar. At EUR 1.0 million, sales were slightly above the previous year's level (2021: EUR 0.9 million).

On 15 April, EuRIC’s tyre recycling event “Reinventing the Wheel: Advancing tyre recycling”, brought together all the value chain stakeholders to address tyre circularity challenges and collaborate on opportunities for increased material recovery in the EU. Held in Brussels, the event emphasised the significant untapped potential for tyre circularity. Key requirements include improved ecodesign of tyres, mandatory recycled content targets either in new tyres or other applications, and chemical legislation for recycled materials from tyres based on risk assessment rather than the precautionary principle, all fostered by harmonised EU-wide End-of-Waste criteria.
