Ecopneus – the Italian end-of-life tire management authority – reports that the new Bicocca Stadium received a completely renovated sports center this summer, a century after it was opened. Bicocca’s sports field received an athletics track equipped with speed sensors, stands and changing rooms completely renovated and managed by CUS Milano. These are the redevelopment projects completed by the University as part of the project designed to promote university sport and the use of the facility by all residents. The plan also includes opening of a Center for Sports Medicine and a Center for Aggregation, Culture and Leisure.

In the first quarter of September, a new used tire law has been adopted in California by Governor Gavin Newsom. As reported by the Tire Industry Association (TIA), the law forbids the installation of unsafe used tires on vehicles in the entire state. The bill AB 949 will prohibit automotive repair dealers from installing unsafe used tires, as specified, on motor vehicles for use on a highway. Except as specified, it will oblige automotive repair dealers to use a visual inspection to determine whether a tire meets the criteria of an unsafe used tire.

Ecolomondo Corporation – a Canadian supplier of thermal decomposition process technologies for end-of-life-tires – announced that it has selected Maylan Group Inc. of Hawkesbury, Ontario, to construct the building that would house its new Thermal Decomposition Process (TDP) turnkey facility to be located in Hawkesbury, Ontario. The Company and the Contractor have recently signed a binding Design-Build contract with a not-to-exceed price of $6.6 million, with substantial completion expected by January 15, 2020.

Ecopneus – Italian end-of-life tire management authority – reports about opening the latest generation synthetic turf field with recycled rubber in Caserta. According to Ecopneus, the initiative became possible thanks to the "Protocol against the abandonment of discarded tires" in Italy.</p><p>The children and youngsters of the Vanvitelli district will be able to play and dream big, because in their neighborhood today two new football fields and five-a-side football pitches have been constructed.

Swedish tire pyrolysis equipment manufacturer and operator Scandinavian Enviro Systems (Enviro) reports about developing a public, international corporate bond to finance the company’s ownership of forthcoming pyrolysis plants for end-of-life vehicle tires. The work to develop the bond is being carried out in collaboration with the London-based finance financial adviser Zenzic Partners, Enviro says.

Tyre Stewardship Australia (TSA) reports that an innovative campaign has been launched enabling members of the community to help tackle the problem of dumped and stockpiled tires. Tyre Stewardship Australia has partnered with the Snap Send Solve reporting application to develop an easy way for members of the public to report local stockpiles or dumping hotspots. The free smartphone app will help monitor where waste tires are being dumped or stockpiled.

Renowned tire pyrolysis equipment manufacturer Scandinavian Enviro Systems (known as Enviro) has decided to launch a holding company in the USA to facilitate its establishment of co-owned tire pyrolysis plants on the US market. Recently, Enviro published a press release disclosing details of the decision. “Our new strategy means that Enviro wants to become part-owner of plants based on our technology as it provides good revenue opportunities. However, becoming a partner places other requirements on company structures, and it is from this perspective that the decision to establish a holding company in the US market should be seen”, says Thomas Sörensson, CEO Enviro.

A Turkish company Hatko reports about its innovative sound barriers made from recycled tire rubber that allow local communities in Turkey to reach a higher-quality living standards. Hatko’s sound barriers made from tire-derived crumb rubber decrease traffic noise, even at its maximum levels, in residential areas near highways with high vehicle traffic, or near intercity railways and tram routes, double roads, etc. This enables to increase the life quality of life for residents in the vicinity of such routes, providing calm and peaceful atmosphere for living.
