Bridgestone Americas (Bridgestone) announced that the company will debut a demonstration commercial tire at WasteExpo. The tire supports the use of 70% recycled and renewable materials1, making it the first commercially available tire in industry history to reach the milestone. It is the company’s first waste-specific tire to earn ISCC PLUS certification, a globally recognized system that supports the transition to a circular economy and bioeconomy.

The European Commission has fined 15 major car manufacturers and the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) a total of €458 million for participating in a cartel that restricted competition in end-of-life vehicle (ELV) recycling for over 15 years. The companies colluded to avoid paying dismantlers and withheld information on recycling performance to limit consumer awareness. Mercedes-Benz was granted full immunity for revealing the cartel, while several others received reduced fines for cooperating.
