In the resent press-release, Automotive World magazine explores how pyrolysis technique for recovering raw materials from waste can be used to recycle end-of-life tyres. The technology solutions used in the automotive industry need to undergo radical change. By lowering the carbon footprint created by users, it has become easier to produce electric vehicles with zero emissions, but the production process still has a substantial negative influence on the environment.

In order to request the clearance of containers and trailers parked in Tunisian ports that arrived in Tunisia prior to the customs decision to stop the import of used tires, a group of rubber manufacturers and processors staged an open sit-in in front of the General Directorate of Customs' headquarters. The Confederation of Citizen Businesses of Tunisia (CONECT) Group encouraged the government to find immediate solutions so that these businesses may receive the authorizations required for them to resume their legal operations.

You read that right. From dandelion. So far, rubber tires have been made of caoutchouc. However, the extraction of this rare raw material in the tropical regions of our planet is a burden on the environment. In its latest press release, AZuR reported that The Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster and the Fraunhofer Institute for Molecular Biology and Applied Ecology are currently researching how the advantages of natural rubber can be produced on a sustainable basis in the future.

Environmental and social awareness is becoming the key element of the sustainable tire industry. End-of-life tires (ELTs) are one of the most abundant as well as the most attractive waste from an economic point of view. More than 30 million tons ELTs are generated worldwide annually (WBCSD, 2019) and this waste stream is growing dynamically.

On July 15, 2022 Robert Weibold, a tire recycling and pyrolysis consultant from Vienna, Austria, was invited to speak at the National Policy Conference on Circular Economy in Tyre and Rubber Recycling Industry in India. The topic Mr. Weibold's presented was called "European Management of End-of-Life Tires: Management Systems, Status Quo, Trends, Reaching Circularity."

In its recent press release, BASF announced it would join the K 2022 trade fair in October 2022 and present its ‘Plastic Journey’ (MAKE – USE – RECYCLE) aimed at a more sustainable plastics (and rubber) economy. Noteworthy, BASF's focus goes beyond plastics and touches other materials, including the topic of end-of-life tires.

Rosehill Rail, a British manufacturer of railroad accessories and spares from recycled tire rubber, tells how its products help create a safer environment at a new train station in London. "Cricklewood sidings in North London — built to service the new Brent Cross West Station due to open in December — have capacity for up to 24 trains and features our Interlocking and Baseplate Crossing Systems alongside Rubber Edge Beams and Anti-Trespass Panels," – Rosehill's LinkedIn channel reports.

According to the recent Forbs press release, Proyección Futura’s environmental services have been in the Ecuadorian market for 16 years and since the beginning of 2022 it has had operations in Bogotá, Colombia. In 2021, it invoiced close to US$700,000 and this year its partners are confident of reaching one million dollars. The company is already developing a plan to manage wood waste.
