Nigeria, like many other countries, faced a growing tyre waste crisis. In 2017 alone, the country generated 113,000 tons of waste tyres, with limited recycling solutions available. Companies like Freee Recycle emerged with innovative approaches to address this challenge, transforming discarded tyres into functional and stylish products.

The LEGO Group today revealed tires made using over one-third recycled materials sourced from old fishing nets, ropes and engine oil. These new tires are already featured in select LEGO® sets, with a full transition planned for later this year. This development marks another step on the journey towards the LEGO Group’s ambition of making its products from more renewable and recycled materials by 2032.

n a meeting at the Real Madrid City auditorium, Real Madrid ambassador Felipe Reyes welcomed Gabriel Leal, General Director of Signus, to formalise the agreement’s renewal. This collaboration played a key role in ensuring the continuation of the Real Madrid Foundation’s wheelchair basketball social sports school in Getafe, held at the Jorge Guillén Primary School. The programme provided a dozen children with physical disabilities, aged 8 to 20, with the opportunity to play sports, develop skills, and foster teamwork.

The Czech companies SUAS GROUP and Sokolovská uhelná, in coöperation with Pyrum (ISIN DE000A2G8ZX8), are planning to build a tyre recycling plant at their Vřesová complex. The project results from the existing consulting and engineering contract between the companies, which was concluded with a subsidiary of the SUAS GROUP, and relates to the planned plant in the Czech Republic. The Czech companies plan to utilise the synergy effects on site and will integrate the gas produced during thermolysis into the existing plant for further utilisation. The planned plant will convert 23,000 tonnes of end-of-life tyres into valuable resources every year. The planned investment volume is CZK 1.4 billion (approx. EUR 57 million).
