The European Recycling Industries’ Confederation (EuRIC) is excited to announce the upcoming "Reinventing the Wheel: Advancing tyre recycling" event, delving into the latest advancements and sustainable practices in the tyre recycling industry. The conference aims to bring together industry leaders, professionals, and enthusiasts to discuss and collaborate on driving positive change in tyre recycling.

A group of 10 representatives from independent automotive service providers, collectively representing 80% of the European automotive sector, has urgently appealed to President von der Leyen and the College of Commissioners for sector-specific legislation on access to vehicle data. This diverse group encompasses automotive part suppliers, distributors, workshops, technology suppliers, mobility service providers, the insurance industry, and consumers. They emphasize the potential benefits of connected vehicles for safer, smarter, and more affordable mobility but highlight how manufacturers' control of vehicle data limits innovation and competition, ultimately driving up prices and diminishing Europe's global competitiveness.

Faced with the global challenge of waste tires, REVYRE – a rubber polymer recovery and re-processing business for end-of-life tires based in New Zealand – has introduced REVPOL, its innovative Recycled Rubber Polymer Compound, aimed at responsibly transforming and enhancing pavements. REVPOL is a recycled rubber compound made from end-of-life tire waste in New Zealand. It addresses the issue of waste generated by end-of-life tires, which can have a significant environmental impact if not properly disposed of.

Greenergy – a UK-headquartered supplier of waste-based renewables and transportation fuels – announced the successful commissioning of expansion works at two of their biodiesel plants in the UK and in Amsterdam. The works included upgrading the pre-treatment process capability, allowing for a wider range of waste oils as feedstocks to be processed into lower carbon biodiesel that will be used in transport fuels to reduce emissions.

Ecolomondo Corporation, a cleantech company specializing in the commercialization of its Thermal Decomposition Process (TDP) proprietary recycling technology and the global deployment of TDP turnkey facilities, is pleased to announce that the Company is now listed on the OTCQB and that its common shares will now be traded on the OTCQB Markets under the symbol “ECLMF” in the United States. The Company applied for listing on the OTCQB Markets in October 2023. The Company fulfilled all requirements prescribed by the authorities and, consequently, its application was recently approved by OTC Markets Group Inc.

TSA reports that ReMade in QLD (ReMiQ) funding is available for Queensland’s manufacturing industry to reduce waste and remanufacture recycled materials. A new 10 million for ReMiQ to support local manufacturers in Queensland to utilise waste and recycled material streams to develop new products, grow their businesses and drive better environmental and economic outcomes. Eligible manufacturers and recyclers can access matched grant funding of between $50,000 and $2.5 million for projects that increase the reuse of existing recycled material streams in manufacturing or enable diversification to remanufacture new waste streams.

Toyo Tires is exhibiting a concept tire that uses 90% sustainable materials at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2024. On January 12, at the Tokyo Auto salon, Toyo Tires presented its Sustainable Concept Tire. The tire, using 90% sustainable materials is a step forward towards a more viable future mobility. Among the raw materials necessary to commercialize tires, materials that are recognized to contribute to reducing environmental impact. Until now, the highest ever usage rate of sustainable materials in one of our tires was 50%. This latest development was made in the Open Country tires used in the 2024 Dakar Rallye.
