This diverse group encompasses automotive part suppliers, distributors, workshops, technology suppliers, mobility service providers, the insurance industry, and consumers. They emphasize the potential benefits of connected vehicles for safer, smarter, and more affordable mobility but highlight how manufacturers' control of vehicle data limits innovation and competition, ultimately driving up prices and diminishing Europe's global competitiveness.

Greenergy – a UK-headquartered supplier of waste-based renewables and transportation fuels – announced the successful commissioning of expansion works at two of their biodiesel plants in the UK and in Amsterdam. The works included upgrading the pre-treatment process capability, allowing for a wider range of waste oils as feedstocks to be processed into lower carbon biodiesel that will be used in transport fuels to reduce emissions.

TSA reports that ReMade in QLD (ReMiQ) funding is available for Queensland’s manufacturing industry to reduce waste and remanufacture recycled materials. A new 10 million for ReMiQ to support local manufacturers in Queensland to utilise waste and recycled material streams to develop new products, grow their businesses and drive better environmental and economic outcomes. Eligible manufacturers and recyclers can access matched grant funding of between $50,000 and $2.5 million for projects that increase the reuse of existing recycled material streams in manufacturing or enable diversification to remanufacture new waste streams.

Toyo Tires is exhibiting a concept tire that uses 90% sustainable materials at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2024. On January 12, at the Tokyo Auto salon, Toyo Tires presented its Sustainable Concept Tire. The tire, using 90% sustainable materials is a step forward towards a more viable future mobility. Among the raw materials necessary to commercialize tires, materials that are recognized to contribute to reducing environmental impact. Until now, the highest ever usage rate of sustainable materials in one of our tires was 50%. This latest development was made in the Open Country tires used in the 2024 Dakar Rallye.
