T.O. Fuller State Park outside Memphis, Tennessee has had a new 2.5 mile trail laid using recycled tire rubber. The walking and biking path is one of the longest rubber-base trails in the U.S. Local contractors and volunteers collected more than 24,000 tires that had been illegally dumped in the area from passenger, commercial truck and heavy equipment vehicles.

Phoenix Industries announced the successful completion of the first trial project with their PelletPAVE™ pelletized rubber modified binder. Approximately 150 mix tons of the rubber modified hot mix asphalt was produced and placed in Pahrump, Nevada.

Tyre Recycling Solutions SA reports that a new project initiated by the Works Department of the city of Prilly (Switzerland) was carried out using TyreXol™ MMA – an activated recycled rubber powder with exceptional versatility – in the base and bearing layer. The asphalt was manufactured by the Famobit power plant (Bussigny) and installed by the Frutiger company.

As the Biden Administration continues to coordinate the implementation of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association (USTMA), joined by 15 stakeholder organizations sent a joint letter highlighting available technologies to support national infrastructure improvements: rubber modified asphalt and tire derived aggregate.
