On March 28, Pyrum Innovations AG (Pyrum) published its trading update for Q4 2023 and preliminary figures for the full year 2023. According to the company's press release, sales increased by 17% year-on-year to EUR 1,147 thousand (2022: EUR 982 thousand). The construction of the end-of-life tire recycling plant in Sweden will be based on Enviro’s unique pyrolysis technology with the ability to extract raw materials from multi-component products. This joint venture announces the final investment decision for the construction of its first used tire recycling plant. Antin and Enviro entered into the joint venture in March of 2023 to build a series of plants in chosen European geographies.

As per the latest press release by Nokian Tyres, the company has made a long-term purchase agreement with a tire recycling joint venture. The agreement will help Nokian Tyres reach one of its key sustainability targets, which is to increase the share of recycled and renewable raw materials in tires to 50% by 2030. Nokian Tyres started to use recovered carbon black in a commercial product line in 2022. The long-term purchase agreement with a tire recycling joint venture enables its increased utilization in tires accelerating circularity and sustainability in the tire industry.

On February 7, the joint venture between Scandinavian Enviro Systems (publ) (Enviro), Michelin and Antin Infrastructure Partners made the final investment decision regarding the construction of the end of life tire recycling plant in Uddevalla, Sweden. The joint venture has secured equity financing for the construction of the plant and signed multi-year agreements for the supply of end-of-life tires and offtakes for the recovered carbon black and oil products. The signed agreements regarding deliveries of recovered materials have a total value of approximately MEUR 180 (SEK 2 billion) over the contract period, which varies between 5 and 10 years.

Toyo Tires is exhibiting a concept tire that uses 90% sustainable materials at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2024. On January 12, at the Tokyo Auto salon, Toyo Tires presented its Sustainable Concept Tire. The tire, using 90% sustainable materials is a step forward towards a more viable future mobility. Among the raw materials necessary to commercialize tires, materials that are recognized to contribute to reducing environmental impact. Until now, the highest ever usage rate of sustainable materials in one of our tires was 50%. This latest development was made in the Open Country tires used in the 2024 Dakar Rallye.
