Peru has presented a sustainable female fashion shoe brand that relies on recycled end-of-life tire rubber. The company is called EstoyEco (“I’m Eco” in English). Jesselyn Campomanes, CEO and co-founder of EstoyEco commented on the process of shoe making saying that scrap tires are treated during 2 phases – these moves are needed to make soles of the footwear. She noted that normally recyclers deliver scrap tires to the brand’s facility where the end-of-life materials are selected and washed. Tires also undergo process of cutting and tread separation and then plates of shoe soles are manufactured.

A scrap tire collector Credential Environmental Limited (CEL) produced over 250,000 tons of tire derived fuel (TDF) and tire derived aggregate (TDA) thanks to CM Shredders technology, Robert Taylor, Site Manager for Credential Environmental stated this month in a letter addressed to the staff of the CM Shredders. In that message, the manager praised the machinery provided by CM and stressed that his company was happy about the quality and reliability of CM’s products. He added: “CM Shredders was able to provide the most advanced shredding technology and equipment which allows us to sell the best quality rubber in the market.”

Residents of Montezuma County, Colorado, US, have collected and delivered over 26,000 tires to the region’s landfill amid program aimed at waste clearance and recycling, said landfill manager Mel Jarmon. The Company and the Contractor have recently signed a binding Design-Build contract with a not-to-exceed price of $6.6 million, with substantial completion expected by January 15, 2020.

Eagle International – a renowned manufacturer of tire recycling equipment – reports that its Punch Cutter has become a well-established machine for cutting OTR tires into usable segments. Eagle’s patented machine is designed to punch through the tread of an OTR tire and split it into two halves down the center of the tread.
