According to the European Recycling Industries’ Confederation (EuRIC), in the EU, almost 95% of end-of-life tyres (ELT) are currently collected and treated due to effective waste tyre management systems, largely driven by extended producer responsibility (EPR) schemes and recycling investments. Ireland is set to broaden the scope of its Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) scheme for tires, administered by Circol ELT, the entity overseeing Ireland’s tire compliance scheme with approval from the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications.
