On September 15-17, China is going to hold The 32nd Annual Conference of China Tyre Recycling Association and The First International Cooperation Summit on Tire and Rubber Recycling in Kunshan, Jiangsu, China. Robert Weibold is speaking at the event among other renowned international experts invited by China Tyre Recycling Association. In addition to highlighting up-to-date trends in tire recycling and pyrolysis, Robert Weibold will also elaborate on how Europeans see Chinese technology providers for these industries.

This September, Robert Weibold attended the First International Cooperation Summit on Tire and Rubber Recycling in Kunshan, China, on 16 and 17 September 2019. The event gathered industry participants from all over China, as well as from the European Union, the United States and other countries. Proclaimed by Zhu Jun, the president of China’s Tire Recycling Association (CTRA), the motto of the summit was “Environment first, Resources second; no mercy to polluting technologies”. As he and many other speakers asserted, China had gone a huge transformation in the tire recycling industry over the last 10 years.

Bridgestone – a global leader in tires and sustainable mobility solutions – is planning to help reduce the carbon footprint of its commercial vehicle line of tires by producing radio-tagged tires in 2024. Tires on vehicles like trucks and buses will be linked to a cloud-based system that is designed to help clients maximize the tires’ lifespan and minimize their carbon footprints. By the end of 2022, Bridgestone intends to begin expanding its plant in Warren County, Tennessee. As part of this renovation, it will install production equipment capable of embedding tires with radio frequency identification (RFID) tags.

At the Tire Technology Expo from March 19th to 21st, 2024, the Allianz Zukunft Reifen (AZuR) initiative impressed with numerous technical presentations in the conference program and with the large international turnout at the AZuR booth and the clear presence of the topics of Circular Economy and Sustainability throughout the event, confirming the network's efforts towards a sustainable tire circular economy.

With new European partners, Allianz Zukunft Reifen (AZuR) is gaining additional expertise in pioneering technological fields of the tire circular economy. Among AZuR’s new partners is now Weibold – tire recycling and pyrolysis consulting company from Austria. On November 13-14, 2019, Weibold’s team attended the biennial Latin American Tire Recycling Conference in Mexico’s Queretaro – a conference uniting industry’s key figures and researchers in the field of end-of-life tire recycling and pyrolysis. This event is considered one of the most important for the tire recycling sector in the region, according to the Latin American Conference official website, and is held as part of the larger XV Latin American Conference on Rubber Technology.

In the recently held Recircle Awards – the globally-facing industry award event recognizing sustainable innovation, production processes, management and services within the tire retreading and recycling sectors – a U.S. based manufacturer of tire recycling machinery outperformed European its competitors for international awards program that recognizes excellence in tire recycling. ECO Green Equipment develops advanced eco-friendly and cost-efficient turnkey tire recycling systems. They recently garnered international attention for sweeping the Best Tyre Recycling Industry Supplier Award at the global Recircle Awards. The company develops both stand-alone machinery and integrated equipment to turn end-of-life tires into valuable aftermarket products. Their tire shredders and grinders can convert tire rubber into fine rubber powder for innovative high-end products, playground surfaces, athletic fields, landscaping mulch, automotive parts and tire-derived fuel.

The Tire Cologne 2022 is ready for its successful restart: the industry’s leading international event will provide crucial stimulus for the sector, as Koelnmesse, the organiser of The Tire Cologne, and the German Tyre Retail and Vulcanisation Trade Association (BRV), the event’s conceptual sponsor, emphasised at a digital press conference attended by more than sixty international trade journalists on 26 January 2022.

The innovation forum "Scrap Tire Recycling" (AZuR) sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany recently published a large-scale study for its partners.
