REVYRE Australia and New Zealand have stepped up a gear in the waste tire sector, raising capital and partnering with Project Portfolio Management P/L (PPM).The MOU with PPM brings a highly capable team with the right values, project management and operational capabilities in the mining and heavy industrial sectors to support REVYRE accelerate and realize our strategy. Last year, InfraCo and Energy Estate announced the REVYRE joint venture – a partnership dedicated to addressing the global End-of-Life Tyre (ELT) disposal problem. Since then, significant progress has been made for REVYRE’s first Facilities in both countries and gaining support from potential feedstock providers.

A US rubber mulch exporter that also manufactures playground products, IMC Outdoor Living, has announced its plans to expand – the company will be using over 320,000 square feet of space at the Gateway TradePort, in Pontoon Beach, Illinois. For this, IMC Outdoor Living will use a Building 2 of the 600-acre Gateway TradePort. Kansas City developer NorthPoint Development is the owner of this edifice, according to the company’s recent statement.

The rubber industry in Germany witnessed a recovery during the first half of 2021 despite the problems with rubber supplies in the EU countries. According to the German rubber association WDK, rubber sales increased in the last quarter. They stood 16.5 percent higher if compared with last year. However, if compared to the rates recorded in 2019, the sales declined 6 percent.

Six massive illegal mining tire dumps have been found in New South Wales, according to the local Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The authorities started to investigate the case of a violator leaving scrap tires without the license in 2020. It is not the first practice of illegal dumping in the state. Similar cases took place several times within the last 7 years.

An innovative bitumen that contains recycled rubber retrieved from end-of-life tires has been used to create around 3,000 square meters of asphalt in Italy. It is believed that this surfacing will significantly reduce the noise of passing vehicles. The General Manager of Ecopneus Federico Dossena stressed that the organization is committed to the idea of spreading the innovative road solution. He called paving with modified asphalts ´a valid strategic choice for the national and urban road network´.

On September 6, 2021, Continental reported it is unveiling its innovative Conti GreenConcept tire concept at this year’s IAA MOBILITY. This conceptual study by the premium tire manufacturer leverages both current and emerging technological approaches to the engineering of sustainable tires for passenger cars, as yet another example of Continental’s wide-ranging activities in pursuit of sustainability. The goal of Continental’s integrative and sustainable concept: minimizing resource consumption across every link in the tire’s value chain. As such, the study addressed everything from the sourcing and procurement of raw materials on to the various stages of production and even on up to ways of extending the tire’s service life. Continental’s development engineers and materials experts rose to the occasion and found novel solutions to each of these three challenges. The result: a tire that consists of a particularly high percentage of traceable, renewable, and recycled materials, has an innovative, lightweight design that conserves valuable resources, and extended service life thanks to a renewable tread.

Dale will be responsible for sales and business development of CM’s industrial line of shredders and auxiliary equipment. Other responsibilities of his new position include working with CM Shredders to develop complete turnkey systems and sales strategies to expand CM’s footprint into new markets and verticals.
