The III Latin American Tire Recycling Conference, also known as JornadasReciclaje, represents an excellent opportunity to explore various alternatives in technologies, regulations, developments, and diverse solutions related to tire recycling in Latin America. The Latin American Society of Rubber Technology (SLTC) aims to be a driving force for technological, entrepreneurial, and management knowledge in the rubber industry. Pyrolysis, an advanced chemical recycling route for End-of-Life Tires (ELT), is experiencing a boom in the last few years. As seen objectively, there is no one best design and/or process mode. Different options can be considered depending on the local circumstances and/or targeted product yields and qualities. While only a small portion of global ELT arisings (31 million tons per year) are currently finding their way to thermochemical decomposition, recent developments are showing strong signs of promising opportunities.

In a move to achieve its sustainability goals, Saudi Arabia’s environmental management services company Reviva signed an agreement with HAMAH Holding Co. and Taiwanese recycling firm Enrestec to recycle waste tires at the regional level. This new partnership seeks to promote recycling, protect resources, and significantly decrease environmental pollution.

With the assistance of Monitor via Modular Finance, Scandinavian Enviro Systems (Enviro) has prepared a register of the 15 largest owners of the company as of June 30, 2023. Following the directed share issue in May, the company’s new owners include Handelsbanken Fonder, Swedbank Robur Fonder and Skandia Fonder. Michelin did not participate in the issue but remains the largest shareholder by a considerable margin with 16.28%.

Bosnia and Herzegovina‘s Minister of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection, Almir Bečarević, presented a permit for waste management for the processing and recycling of end-of-life tires to Zlatko Sejmenović, the director of material recovery company NEGRO CROWN d.o.o. Sarajevo. This gives NEGRO CROWN the opportunity to establish a tire recycling plant in the canton of Sarajevo.
