Jim Fairweather, CEO at Tyrecycle, – an Australian tyre recycling company committed to eliminate the export of whole-baled tyres, to contribute to furthering the circular economy – reposts the company's ongoing investment in new capability and capacity with the Stage 2 development of the Erskine Park site, expected to be completed in the next few months. Additionally, a new Crumbing facility in East Rockingham, Perth, is set to come online. The Perth facility, like Erskine Park, is a multi-purpose plant capable of producing crumb rubber and various sizes of TDF for different overseas markets, including Japan and Korea.

Ecolomondo Corporation (Ecolomondo), a cleantech company specializing in the commercialization of its Thermal Decomposition Process (TDP) proprietary recycling technology and the global deployment of TDP turnkey facilities, has reached an agreement in principle to restructure its original loan agreement (Loan) with Export Development Canada (EDC). The original Loan was for an amount of $32.1 million in project financing with EDC, executed on April 3, 2019, to finance the construction of the Company’s first of its kind new turnkey thermal decomposition facility in the Town of Hawkesbury, Ontario, that will process end-of-life tires to produce re-usable resources.

Supercars has partnered with Entyr, an Australian specialist in recycling end-of-life tyres by turning them into high-quality raw materials, to convert end-of-life Dunlop racing tyres into high-quality raw materials used to replace virgin resources in manufacturing. Following the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 in October, Entyr took delivery of over 400 Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres to be converted using Entyr’s patented thermal processing.

According to ABC News, an Albury business, Carbon MF Pty Ltd, and its director, Mark Fair, were fined nearly $600,000 by the Land and Environment Court for unlawfully accumulating 28,000 end-of-life tyres near Albury Airport. Court records revealed that Carbon MF accepted payment to receive around 22,000 4WD tyres, 45,000 car tyres, and 12,000 truck tyres but failed to comply with an Environment Protection Authority (EPA) clean-up notice. The EPA emphasized the fire hazard these stockpiled tyres posed, highlighting the potential risk to residents and air traffic. Carbon MF Pty Ltd, now in liquidation, faces consequences for environmental negligence.
