JK Tyre & Industries has inaugurated India’s first precision tyre buffing and grinding machine designed for Wet Grip on Worn Tyres (WGWT) testing. The equipment, installed at NATRAX in Pithampur, is intended to strengthen the country’s capacity to evaluate the safety performance of worn tyres in line with international standards.

Reportedly, the fire that broke out in the morning, around 10:00, and covered the entire unit within several minutes. Due to declining naphtha and coal prices in the domestic Indian market, prices decreased further by 6.9% to $1648 per ton in March 2023.

Tinna Rubber & Infrastructure Ltd., India's largest tire recycler, is venturing into the Middle Eastern market with a majority stake acquisition in an Oman-based tire recycling operation. The Oman subsidiary, known as Global Recycle LLC, aims to recycle 10,000 metric tons annually in its initial phase, with plans to triple capacity in the coming years. This move grants Tinna access to the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries (GCC) and contributes to circularity in Oman's economy while generating employment opportunities.

The carbon black of PCBL plant is the latest in a series of expansion projects undertaken by the Indian manufacturer. The list of the states practicing unsafe pyrolysis include Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, as noted by the local media.

Gravita India Limited has announced that its step-down subsidiary, Gravita Netherlands BV (GNBV), has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to acquire a waste tire recycling plant in Romania. This will mark Gravita's first recycling facility in Europe, with a capacity of approximately 17,000 MTPA. The company already operates 12 state-of-the-art recycling facilities across Asia and Africa, with a total capacity of over 300,000 MTPA in various recycling sectors.
