The Tire and Rubber Association of Canada (TRAC) announced that its preeminent biennial Rubber Recycling Symposium will take place October 4-5 at the Lord Nelson Hotel in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Tire and Rubber Association of Canada with the Symposium’s Host Sponsor Divert NS, and partner U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association cordially invite professionals and companies involved in tire manufacturing, rubber recycling, manufacturing of products from recycled rubber, end-of-life tire stewardship organizations, governments, and equipment manufacturers to participate in what had become one of the largest events of its kind.

To further increase its contribution to reducing the harmful effects of industrial waste on the environment, APM Terminals Apapa, Nigeria has started a pilot using paving blocks made from recycled used tyres for exterior paving. This was announced in an APM’s recent press release from December 2, 2021. Studies have shown that recycling tires helps reduce the effects of harmful chemicals on the environment. Following the pilot the sustainability of the solution will be evaluated.

Pyrum Innovations AG (Pyrum) has received the official state approval notice for the operation of production lines 2 and 3 at its main plant in Dillingen, Saarland. Already three months before the start of the official commissioning, all questions from the authorities could be clarified, so that the operating permit was granted. This is a major milestone for the company, as it means that Pyrum's series plants have been proven to be approvable. Consequently, no official restrictions are expected for future plants.
